you will have to pay half of his salary. And wouldn't you rather get something for an overpaid player rather than nothing?

Well how are we going to know salaries if half the team's rosters don't have salaries listed?

And also, I think we jumped the gun on this. We're using 09 salaries for the 2010 season... shoulda waited til March to go at this imo

Think about the Giants and Timmy Lincecum... he's listed for cheap now, and he's gonna get $10 mil in arbitation

I am not holding this off. There is a website that has all the players contracts updated daily and you can look up there contracts there.

You're right there is.

But do you expect 30 people to check it daily to see who got a raise, arbitration hearing, contracts renewed, etc?

If we're doing a $100 mil hard cap, that's putting a lot of work on 30 managers.

I think you need to make a tab that has all of the rules together, rather than some rules in each tab and we have to dig and find them

ie waivier rules, FA bidding rules, salary cap, how to manage the rosters, etc

Cubs send down after DFAing Jay Jackson, Marcos Mateo, Josh Vitters, and Starlin Castro.
Cubs also DFA David Patton and Tyler Colvin but don't send them down.

agreed, these rules are BS and growing every minute, I finally get a strategy I want to use and now you tell me I have to pay off half the salary for letting someone go... How are teams like the yankees going to be able to play with your $100 million cap? If he releases EVERYONE he'd still have close to a $100 million payroll and no players. This was poorly thought through, and I think I'm done playing. Cap is bogus. If you want to dock me half the salary for letting a bum like Gil Mesche go then you need to up club salaries to 200 mil.

Tons of frustration. If you up the caps I'll continue but right now this is horrendous. GL
