Giants have released P Alex Hinshaw.

Giants have traded Eugenio Velez, Andres Torres and Dan Runzler to the Boston Red Sox for Jacoby Ellsbury and Michael Bowden. Bowden will be offered a spot on the 40 man.

Red Sox need to DFA someone and the Giants need to add a minor league to the 40 man.
